    With a long time WAMM presence, Bering has a legacy of serving Montrose. Its ministry has a mission of providing piritual and other services for an underserved community. The church welcomes a diverse congregation. They invite neighborhood participation in a calendar of events throughout the year.

    Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral

    Located in WAMM since 1952, the Cathedral is part of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. The organization offers not only worship but religious education in Orthodoxy. It is well-know as the home of the Original Greek Festival each Fall.

  • Chapel of St. Basil

    Chapel of St. Basil

    Just across West Alabama from WAMM, located on the campus of St. Thomas University since 1997, the Chapel was designed by architect Philip Johnson. It provides an artistic and inspiring space for participating in Catholic worship.

  • Rothko Chapel

    Rothko Chapel

    On the Menil campus, directly South of WAMM, the non-denominational chapel is a neighborhood gem. Designed by architects Philip Johnson, Howard Barnstone, and Eugene Aubry, the Rothko is a contemplative space. It houses a collection of Mark Rothko paintings specially created for the space.

    Temple Emanu El

    Adjacent to Rice University, about 1.7 miles south of WAMM, it is the closest of several synogogues serving the Jewish faith. Since 1949, the Congregation has been focused on social welfare and action.
